Our Three Phase System
Plug
Layer

Pump
Phase One
Firstly, we need to identify where the ingress of water is coming from. Once we’ve done this we will plug and then fill with a Cementone Slurry as the base for the waterproofing. Once the ingress of water has stopped, we will then apply two coats of Xypex to all areas within the pit.
Phase Two
We will then return to the site, 3-4 times This being to apply further layers of the Xypex to reinforce the seal if needed.
Phase Three
After this, if there is still water in the pit, we will install a sump pump to remove the low-lying water.
Xypex
Xypex is a non-toxic chemical treatment for the waterproofing and protection of concrete.
Its primary and most distinguishing performance feature is its unique ability to generate a non-soluble crystalline formation deep within the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete; a crystalline structure that permanently seals the concrete against the penetration of water and other liquids from any direction.
PepsiCo Reading
Our team at PepsiCo Reading first found the ingress of water and applied Cementone. All the loose pit floor surface was then removed so that Cement with the Sika 4a Waterstop could be applied to all areas of the lift pit once this dried the team could apply the first coat of xypex slurry by brush to all areas of the lift pit this was then left over night to dry until a second coat of the xypex slurry was applied.
Morrison's Wimbledon
Our team at Morrison’s Wimbledon created a sump pit. When the water enters the pit, an activator on the sump pump turns the sump pump on automatically.
The team then formed the concrete pit floor and created a ramp so that the water flows down to the pump.
Damfield gardens
Due to high rain and snowfall a recurring problem project managers and site supervisors are coming across at the moment is the pit being submerged in water. Our team have developed a solution to this which is now being rolled out across the country.
- Once the Ingress of water is found we will plug and fill with a cementone slurry to stop the ingress.
- Once the ingress of water is stopped, we will then apply two coats of Xypex to all arears.
